• The Agenda: Local government briefs for 12.15.25 (richmondbizsense.com) — Goochland County has hired veteran local-government leader Nora Amos as its new economic development director, with her first day set for Jan. 2. Amos, formerly Ashland’s planning and community development director, brings more than 20 years’ experience and advanced training that will shape how Goochland attracts business and manages growth alongside recently promoted deputy county administrator Sara Worley. 
• $1.1M drug smuggling plot: 3 more charged in Virginia (fox5dc.com) — Goochland residents should know that the county Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office is helping prosecute an alleged $1.1 million drug-smuggling scheme tied to the Virginia Correctional Center for Women. Three more people now face charges as state prison officials stress a zero-tolerance policy for contraband and urge tips from the public to support the ongoing investigation.
