Does anyone in your family work in politics or government?

Wife currently works for Congress, Office of the Clerk, Capitol Hill. Now a Republican, I was named spokesperson for the Democratic Committee of Allegheny County for ten years: 1973-1983. My former boss, Dr. Cyril Wecht, highest ranking Democrat in Allegheny County, endorses my current candidacy. See BeranGoodNews.com for details.

Previous public office positions or appointments

Zoning Board Member. White House Business Council Member, Obama Administration. Cardinal Donald Wuerl's Committee to address "Sex Abuse by Catholic Priests."

Why are you seeking this office?

Failures by the current administration to address important issues to current taxpayers: significant increases in crime, declining student performance in education, continually raising property taxes.

What are the major differences between you and the other candidate(s) seeking this post?

I prefer to be considered the "Good News" candidate, the "Common Sense" candidate, the "Good Conscience" candidate. My absolute commitment will be to "present-day" constituents. The current administration seems more focused on achieving future housing projections, than addressing the needs of current taxpayers. "My idea of 'Affordable Housing' is to make it possible for current homeowners to stay in their present Fairfax County home, instead of chasing them to Loudoun County."

What do you see as the top issues facing (your county/district), and how do you address them in your campaign platform?

I wish to maintain a positive platform. I know this is critical to attract voters from across the aisle. It's not enough to say I'll lower taxes. I have specific details on how we can attract tourism dollars to our district -- new county revenue that can cover increased county costs without increasing property taxes!

I wish to make FCPS accountable for student performance, and reward teachers for returning scores to the level of excellence they once had.

I wish to support Law Enforcement. We need them more than ever! Violent crime is up 20%! We're down by 200 officers. I have a definitive plan that will attract new officers, help them find affordable housing, and retain them for years to come!

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

Forty-years as CEO for a Marketing Agency, Zoning Board Member, White House Business Council, Member of "Sex Abuse by Catholic Priests" Response Committee under Cardinal Donald Wuerl.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I am a God-fearing man, dedicated to my Creator, family, home and community. I'm a loving husband, nurturing father, community activist, and staunch conservative. I believe the Constitution of the United States is the greatest document ever written, next to the Bible. As far as I'm aware, I'm the only candidate, including the incumbent, with actionable plans on how to solve the problems of Franconia District and Fairfax County. Because I've been busily working on these initiatives for months, several of them will be ready to implement as of day-one.

I will soon be announcing plans on how to solve the reclamation and maintenance problems of Lake Accotink. Kingstowne Lake, and Huntley Meadows Park -- all without raising taxes!

My mantra is, "There's a marketing solution to every problem." No matter how big, there is someone out there with the funds and desire to help you solve your problem, as long as they can also benefit by helping you. I respect and admire individuals from all countries, cultures, faiths, genders, and political leanings. My wife is from China. I technically have an inter-racial marriage. I don't see it that way. We are all children of the same God.
