Armed Robbery at Richmond Highway Grocery Store: Police

Suspect pulled a knife on store employee who tried to stop him as he fled store with concealed merchandise, police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police report Monday that the ALDI grocery store on Richmond Highway was robbed Saturday night.

Around 6:35 p.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a man who had concealed merchandise and left the store without paying, police said.

A 22-year-old employee attempted to stop the suspect, when he displayed a knife and threatened the victim. The suspect ran off toward an adjacent neighborhood. He was described as white, around 40 to 50 years old, wearing a black coat, gray hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and tan work boots.

The victim did not require medical attention.
