Taste Of Mount Vernon Planned During 2023 Mount Vernon Town Meeting
Taste of Mount Vernon will be a new part of Supervisor Dan Storck's annual town meeting to provide updates on the district.

MOUNT VERNON, VA — The annual Mount Vernon Town Meeting will feature a new event this year: a Taste of Mount Vernon.
The town meeting hosted by Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck is planned for Saturday, Feb. 11 from 7:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Mount Vernon High School, 8515 Old Mount Vernon Rd., Alexandria, VA. It will also be available virtually on Fairfax County's Channel 16, Storck's Facebook Live and YouTube.
The Mount Vernon Town Meeting dates back to 1988. Storck's predecessor, former Supervisor Gerry Hyland, started the meeting when he was first elected. Storck has served in the position since his election in 2015 and is seeking re-election in 2023.

The event will begin with an exhibit hall featuring Fairfax County agencies and community service providers from 7:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
From 9:30 a.m. to noon, there will be speakers, a Q&A session and virtual tour. Speakers will include Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay, County Executive Bryan Hill, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis, Mount Vernon District School Board representative Karen Corbett Sanders, Fairfax County Public Schools Superintendent Michelle Reid, Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-Fairfax) and Rep. Don Beyer (D-Alexandria).

Following the speaker program, a Taste of Mount Vernon will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. Mount Vernon District restaurants will offer food samples to attendees.
