South County Candidate Forum To Include County, State Candidates
As early voting approaches for the November election, the South County Federation is hosting a state and local candidate forum.

LORTON, VA — Before early voting begins, voters can hear from state House and Senate candidates and local candidates in the Mount Vernon and Springfield Districts.
The Lorton-based South County Federation will host a candidate forum on Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The forum will be available in person at the Lorton Community Center's multipurpose room or through Zoom with meeting ID 872 8810 4833 and passcode 378131.
Candidates in the Mount Vernon District and Springfield District for Board of Supervisors and Fairfax County School Board were invited to participate, as well as Virginia House 15th, 18th and 19th districts and Senate 33rd and 34th districts. Participating candidates will get to speak for up to five minutes each on topics of value to the local community.

Fairfax County voters will have numerous races on the ballot on Nov. 7, 2023, including Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Fairfax County School Board, Fairfax County Clerk of Court, Fairfax County Commonwealth's Attorney, Fairfax County Sheriff, Virginia House and Senate, and Soil and Water Conservation. Early voting will begin on Sept. 22.
