FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A Maryland man's car overturned and he ended up in the hospital late Monday night after a police pursuit on Richmond Highway, police said Wednesday.

As the suspect vehicle approached the exit ramp to I-495, it changed lanes and crashed into the driver’s side front fender of the police cruiser, according to police. This caused the Volkswagen to spin around to the right of the police cruiser and subsequently struck a jersey barrier and overturned. The officer summoned medical assistance for the driver and he was extricated by Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel.
The driver, Brandon K. Moon, 30, of Oxon Hill, Md., was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
