Volunteer at Medical Clinic Charged with Sexual Battery: Police

Burke man says he has a medical license from Colombia; police say he allegedly touched a patient inappropriately at Richmond Highway clinic.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A volunteer doctor operating without a U.S. medical license who police say allegedly touched a patient inappropriately June 23 has been charged with sexual battery, Fairfax County Police said Friday.

Fabio Suarez Valderrama, 54, of Burke was volunteering at HIBP Medical Services, located at 6911 Richmond Highway in Fairfax County. Suarez Valderrama was reportedly a licensed doctor in Colombia, but does not have a medical license here in the United States, according to police.

On Wednesday, August 17, a warrant was obtained for Suarez Valderrama for Sexual Battery. Around 10:08 a.m., he turned himself into the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center where the warrant was served.
Major Crimes detectives believe there may be other possible victims and ask anyone with information or who may have experienced a similar incident with Suarez Valderrama to contact Detective J. Wagner at (703) 246-7800.
