West Potomac Academy, Above the Barre Host Master Class with “Hamilton” Performer
Professional dancer Carla Garcia will offer a master class November 7.

ALEXANDRIA, VA - West Potomac Academy and its business partner, Above the Barre, will host a master class with professional dancer Carla Garcia on Monday, November 7, for students in grades 5-12, at West Potomac High School. West Potomac Academy is one of six high school academies in Fairfax County Public Schools.
Garcia, a native of Oxon Hill, Md., is performing in “Hamilton” on Broadway and is a former contestant on “So You Think You Can Dance.” She graduated from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and works as a performer, choreographer, and teacher.
Garcia will hold three sessions for students:

- Musical Theater Dance for Actors and Singers in grades 7-12, 2 to 3 p.m.
- Intermediate Dance for grades 5-8, 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
- Advanced Dance for grades 9-12, 4:45 to 5:45 p.m.
Classes are $35 and $30 for current Above the Barre students. Registration forms and fees are due by Tuesday, November 1. Additional information is available online.
