Zinga, Yappy Hour in Old Town and an American Century Theater Musical

It's Thursday, Aug. 15 and Alexandria shows no signs of slowing down. Here are a few events you should know about today in the Alexandria area.
Zinga. Looking for a gig? According to a construction team at the new Richmond Highway Zinga, the frozen yogurt shop is now accepting applications before they open by the end of the month. Stop by the shop at the Beacon Center or apply online.
There are two yappy hours on Thursday in Old Town. Artfully Chocolate is hosting its monthly yappy hour so swing by with your canine companion from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at 506 John Carlyle St. Call the shop at 703-575-8686 for more information. Jackson 20 is also celebrating those with four on the floor at 5 p.m., located at 480 King St.
Friendly dogs visit Beatley Central Library to listen to their human buddies read to them. Pre-registration is required. To register for a 15-minute slot, call 703-746-1702 x5. The Paws to Read event is designed for grades 1 through 6.
Relax in style with acoustic blues music and a glass of wine. Local artist Curtis Blues revisits Delta blues from the '20s to the '40s at cheese shop La Fromagerie, 1222 King St., 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. This event recurs monthly every third Thursday. Call 703-879-2467 for more details.
