Federal officials say the restructuring will streamline management, but Virginia lawmakers warn reported cuts of up to 35,000 positions could worsen access to doctors, including at the Hampton and Chesapeake facilities local veterans rely on.

Police say community tips and technology led to the arrest, which they hope brings some relief to the victim’s family as both cities grapple with youth violence.

Van Malone introduced as Hampton football's new head coach (13newsnow.com) — Hampton University has officially ushered in a new football era, introducing longtime Kansas State assistant Van Malone as the Pirates’ head coach during a campus press conference in Hampton. Malone says he’ll lean on his culture-building experience and focus heavily on recruiting local 757 talent that understands the program’s legacy and tradition.
