2 Dulles-Area Events To Celebrate Completion Of Silver Line Extension

DULLES, VA — Those looking for opportunities to celebrate the completion of Metro's new Silver Line can check out two upcoming events.

Comstock and Loudoun County are hosting a grand opening celebration from 12-3 p.m., on Saturday, at the new Loudoun Station, which is located at 43751 Central Station Drive in Ashburn.

Attendees will be able to take their chances at an ax-throwing truck, grab an adult beverage, or purchase food from one of the onsite restaurants or food trucks lining the streets.

The family-friendly event will include a balloon artist, glitter tattoos, moon bounces, a bubbleologist, and performance by '80s tribute band The Legwarmers.

On Monday, the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating the completion of the Silver Line extension as part of its Metro Monday meetups.The event will take place at 5 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport, which is located at 2200 Centreville Road in Herndon. Sign up online.

Speakers include Loudoun Board of Supervisors Chair Phillis J. Randall; Executive Director Buddy Rizer of Loudoun Economic Development; Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chair Jeffrey McKay; Victor Hoskins, the president and CEO of Fairfax Economic Development; and Rachel Reibach, the regional director of the Manassas office of Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Virginia.)
