22nd Annual 'Plane Pull' to Benefit Special Olympics Virginia
Test your strength against a 164,000 pound airbus and join a unique 5K/10K along the Runway Sept. 20 at Dulles International Airport.

Does joining your friends, family and coworkers to pull a 164,000+ pound airbus sound like a fun time? Join 66 teams from across the area as they compete in the 22nd annual Dulles Day Family Festival and Plane Pull Sept. 20 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dulles International Airport.
The 22st annual Dulles Day Family Festival and Plane Pull kicks off Sept. 20 with events for all ages.
Adult teams of 25 will compete to see who can pull the airplane 12 feet the fastest. Eligible teams must raise $1,500, or $60 per person, to participate. All proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics Virginia.

Prior to the event, runners, walkers and stroller pushers are encouraged to participate in the second annual 5K/10K on the Runway. 2,500 runners will run past planes and along the Dulles Airport Runway landing strip. Registration costs $30 per participant for the 5K until Aug. 22 and $35 until Sept. 17. Registration costs $40 per participant for the 10K until Aug. 22 and $45 until Sept. 17.
The event also includes a Kids Truck Pull for teams of eight. Participants must raise or donate a minimum of $10 per person. All participants will receive a Plane Pull T-shirt.

Since the first-ever Plane Run in 1993, Special Olympics Virginia has raised more than $2 million for athletes with intellectual disabilities. The event kicked off a worldwide plane-pulling phenomenon with similar Plane Pulls in Colorado, Maryland, Hawaii, Tennessee and Texas.
