HERNDON, VA -- Two young men tried to grab a man's cell phone as he was walking in Herndon last week, and took off running when they failed, police said.

The man had gone for a walk in the 600 block of Dulles Court at around 10 p.m. on June 18 when two men approached him, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"The suspects tried to grab his cell phone and when the robbery attempt was unsuccessful, the parties took off running," the report states.

Police described the men as Hispanic and around 19 years of age. One was skinny, 6'1", and wearing a black hat, black shirt and blue jeans, while the other was heavyset, 5'6", and wearing a gray t-shirt and jeans, police say.
