Build A Child's Library Event Offers A Wide Range Of Books

Elementary Students Enjoy Choosing New Books at Assistance League's Book Fair

On September 26th, Assistance League of Northern Virginia (ALNV) held its first book fair of the school year at Dogwood Elementary School in Reston. At this fair, which ALNV calls Build a Child’s Library, volunteers arranged lots of new books on a variety of topics to ensure that the 730 students could each choose a book that interested them. Their teachers and ALNV volunteers helped the students when they couldn’t decide on a book. Once the students selected their books, they signed their names inside the front cover, and they had a new book to take home and keep. ALNV volunteers enjoyed seeing their happy smiles as much as the students loved finding their perfect book.
