HERNDON, VA — A Herndon man was arrested after getting into a safe in an area home last week, police say.

The victim told police that the offender was caught on home surveillance in the 1100 block of Arctic Quill Road on Aug. 16 entering a locked safe in the home and taking various items, "as well as taking a set of keys to a car parked outside of the home," according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"A short while later, the offender was located, along with the stolen items and the vehicle," the report states.

Police arrested 20-year-old Brandon Jones on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle and burglary. He is being held without bond.
