The Wayne M. Kidwell American Legion Post 184, in cooperation with the Town of Herndon, will be holding their Annual Memorial Day Observance at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery, 831 Dranesville Road, Herndon on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 10:00 am. This year’s program will feature the Herndon Naval Junior ROTC Color Guard. Dr. Duane Young, MAJ, US Army (Ret.) will be this year's Guest Speaker.
The Avenue of Flags will be displayed from morning to dusk at the Chestnut Grove Cemetery. The Avenue of Flags now consists of 57 Veteran casket flags displayed from the main gate to the side gate. Each flag has a marker identifying the veteran. This display can be viewed on foot or in your car.
