Flights Resume With Delays At BWI, DC Airports After Stormy Monday
All three airports serving the Baltimore-Washington, D.C. area grounded flights for a time Monday due to severe thunderstorms.

VIRGINIA — Travelers leaving the Baltimore-Washington metro region by air on Monday night faced delays after the Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop at the region's three airports for a time because of storms/
Departures from Baltimore-Washington International, Ronald Reagan National, and Washington Dulles International airports were grounded at 5:31 p.m. due to the severe thunderstorms moving through the area late Monday afternoon.
As of 10 p.m. all ground stops had been lifted for BWI, Dulles and Reagan National, although the FAA warned that delays at Dulles were at least 30 minutes.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 6:45 p.m. for most of the Washington metropolitan region. The storms brought high winds, hail and heavy rain. A tornado watch remained in effect until 9 p.m.
