HERNDON, VA — Police are investigating after they say a group of three to four people jumped a man in Herndon and stole his rental car.

Police were called to the intersection of Elden Street and Alabama Avenue on Aug. 16, where the victim reported that the group took the key fob to his rental car after assaulting him, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

"The suspects stole the rental car, which was retrieved a short while later, just outside of town limits," the report states. "The case is under investigation."
