An early morning two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning injured two drivers and resulted in a reckless driving charge.

A head-on crash in Hillsboro Tuesday morning seriously injured two drivers near the intersection of Charles Town Pike and Grubstake Farm Lane.
A 2002 Honda Odyssey minivan driven by a Herndon woman was traveling westbound on Route 9 around 7:55 a.m. when the vehicle crossed into the left shoulder. The woman attempted to correct the vehicle when she re-entered the east-bound lane and struck a 1999 Acura TL driven by a Charles Town, V. Va. woman head-on, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
The Honda minivan then overturned and rolled down an embankment. Both drivers required extraction from their heavily damaged vehicles after sustaining serious but non-life threatening injuries. The two drivers were then transported to Winchester Medical Center.
