International Cat Day Celebrated By Herndon Cat Lovers

HERNDON, VA — Although ancient Egyptians loved their cats and even included drawings of domesticated felines in their hieroglyphs, there's no indication they celebrated International Cat Day.

That's too bad.

Any cat owner will tell you that their cat is the center of their attention — what choice do they have?

In honor of International Cat Day on Sunday, Patch asked the cat lovers in Herndon to share photos of their cats via Neighbor and Facebook posts.

Due to the overwhelming response from Herndon's cat-loving community, Patch's International Cat Day celebration will be spread out over several days. Check back on Monday for part two, which will feature more photos submitted by our readers of Herndon's friendly felines.
