International Cat Day Celebrated By Herndon Cat Lovers
Patch asked readers to submit photos of their feline friends in honor of International Cat Day on Sunday.

HERNDON, VA — Although ancient Egyptians loved their cats and even included drawings of domesticated felines in their hieroglyphs, there's no indication they celebrated International Cat Day.
That's too bad.
Any cat owner will tell you that their cat is the center of their attention — what choice do they have?

My cat, Jepp, has his own FB and IG followings. He is named for the aviation chartmaker, and it more like a "dog in a cat" body — who plays fetch, runs on his exercise wheel, and it always happy to see me! — Christopher L. Freeze, Herndon

Maisy says hello, as well. — Robert Grainer, Herndon/Oak Hill
"And Maisy’s story is a great one. Her mother was killed by a construction vehicle in a new neighborhood. The litter ran into the sewer, and all kittens were rescued quickly except Maisy. She was in the sewer for TEN days until our friend lowered a fitted sheet with cat food in it and she climbed in and was rescued. We could not resist that rescue story and still cannot resist her." — Marnie Crannis Garnie

This is Chloe. — Erica Fuller, Herndon
