Herndon FY2022 Report Given High Marks From Government Finance Group

HERNDON, VA — The Town of Herndon received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada, according to a release.

GFOA awarded the Certificate of Achievement, the highest form of recognition for governmental accounting reporting, to Herndon based on its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2022.

"The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive 'spirit of full disclosure' to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the report," according to a GFOA release.

Each year, the town manager is required to arrange an independent audit by a certified public accountant of the The report for FY2022 was released to the public on Nov. 17, 2022.
