Herndon High Places Four Runners in Top 10 at Local Meet

Five of the more than 20 runners who competed for Herndon finished in the top 10 in their respective divisions, sorted by grade and gender.

Herndon High School was one of a handful of area schools to compete in the recent =PR= Invitational Kickoff meet at Bull Run Regional Park in Manassas this week.

The Hornets had more than 40 runners compete, four of which placed in the top 10 in their respective divisions, which were sorted by grade and gender.

The team’s best finish came from senior Lauren Butler, who placed second out of 71 runners in the senior girls division with a time of 12:34.00. Teammate Hannah Wolfe placed fourth in the same division with a time of 12:38.00, and Jeremy Levine also placed fourth out of 109 runners with a team-best time of 10:33.00 on the two-mile course.

Sophomore Olivia Duston was the school’s other top 10 finisher, placing sixth out of 112 runners in the sophomore girls division with a time of 12:53.00.

A total of 893 runners from all schools in attendance competed across the eight divisions. Other local schools in attendance included Bishop O’Connell, Langley High, South Lakes High and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology.
