Herndon Home Prices Surge In August
The median sale price of homes in Fairfax County increased by $20,000 compared to the same period a year ago.
HERNDON, VA — It continues to get more expensive to buy a home in Herndon, with prices county-wide continuing their upward march.
Fairfax County saw home prices in August increase by $20,000, or 4 percent, compared to August 2016, going from a median sale price of $485,000 to $505,000, according to a report from Long & Foster.
Meanwhile, total units sold declined by 8 percent across the county to 1,471. Inventory plunged 13 percent to 3,531. Homes are spending an average of 34 days on the market in the county.

Fairfax County had a healthy increase in prices, but it wasn't even close to the largest for Northern Virginia. In Alexandria, home prices skyrocketed from $455,200 to $521,000, a staggering 14 percent increase.
