Herndon's Cori McMillan Slugs Her Way To Big South Conference Awards

HERNDON, VA — For the second straight year, Cori McMillan of Herndon was named to the Big South Conference's first team list.

The sophomore slugger slashed .324/.375/.486 overall this season for Radford University's varsity softball team, according to Merit News.

McMillan posted top-10 numbers for conference play in batting average, slugging, OBP, OPS, hits, RBIs, triples and stolen bases. Playing against Presbyterian, she hit five RBIs, which was the second-most recorded by a Big South player this year in a single game.

Other Radford players recognized with Big South Conference Awards were Lexie Roberts of Mebane, North Carolina and Laura Thompson, of Prince George, Virginia. Roberts' 52 hits put her in the conference top-10 for hitting and Thompson was named to the Big South's all-academic squad.
