Hornets at the Conference Championships

Herndon has won eleven conference champions – 1982, 1991-94, 1996-8, 2000-01, 2003. Herndon finished fourth at the 2016 Conference 5 Championships, sending seven wrestlers to the regional tournament. Gabe Pike was Herndon’s last individual champ, winning the 126 lbs. class in 2012.

Upper Weights Boost Herndon Lineup

Chris Estrada sports a perfect 5-0 conference record and is poised to make a run at a conference title at heavyweight. Cole Cooksey has placed in every tournament he’s wrestled this season, and looks to be in the mix at 220lbs. At 195lbs., John Proctor has been steadily improving throughout the season and took the 2016 NOVA Classic Champion, Centreville’s Gabriel Brooks, to the limit, before falling 7-5 in overtime. Trey Passmore also has the firepower to make some noise in the tournament.
