Initial Weekend Food for Kids Packing of the New School Year

Assistance League of Northern Virginia (ALNV), assisted by Dominion Energy employee volunteers, assembled 1,900 packets of food for elementary school children in just over an hour. The packets—containing ramen noodles, microwaveable mac and cheese, pudding, yogurt, and healthy snacks—were delivered to six elementary schools to be distributed to students facing weekend food insecurity.

With the help of generous donors and grantors, ALNV supports children in need in eight Fairfax County and Prince William County Title 1 elementary schools through food, clothing, and literacy programs. The Weekend Food for Kids program provides these non-perishable food packets each month during the school year.
