HERNDON, VA — Friday was Melissa McKenna's last day as the president and chief executive officer of the Dulles Regional Chamber of Commerce, according to the organization's weekly email newsletter.

McKenna, who started as the chamber's president and CEO in January, will be available for the executive team during the transition period, according to the email.

Chamber Chair Joe Malabo and Vice Chair Mike Williams are working out the details of a search committee to find a new president and CEO. Ads have already been posted on two job sites and they are going through candidates from the previous CEO search.

Two months ago, McKenna stepped down as the chairman of the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, a job she continued to do while leading the chamber. At that time, she assumed the role of vice chair, with Lenore Stanton becoming the new chairman.

Patch reached out to the chamber for more information. This story will be updated once new details are available.
