HERNDON, VA — Mission BBQ, a chain known for its food and its support of service members and first responders, is now open in Herndon. According to a report, the restaurant opened earlier this month at the Village Center at Dulles at 2445 Centreville Road.

Mission BBQ originated in 2011, the idea of two friends with a passion for barbecue, according to the chain's website. Through the business, the owners aim to pay tribute to the men and women who — as soldiers, firefighters, police officers, first responders — protect and serve U.S. communities.

The menu boasts items like St. Louis-style spare ribs, oak-smoked brisket, kettle-brewed iced tea and more.
