'Music Through The Decades' Theme Of 2023 Herndon Homecoming Parade

Herndon High School students, musicians, cheerleaders, and athletes will be marching down Elden Street on Saturday morning.

HERNDON, VA — Herndon High School students will be putting their school and community spirit on display Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. That's when the 2023 Herndon High School Homecoming Parade will begin marching down Elden Street.

This year's parade theme of “Music Through the Decades,” will spotlight music from the 1970s to the 2000s.

The parade will feature the Herndon High Marching Band, class floats, and cheerleaders. In addition, elementary students, young athletes and community organizations will also be participating in the parade.

To get the best view of the parade, spectators can line up along Elden Street between Locust and Lynn streets.

To ensure that the parade will run smoothly and safely, the following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Saturday:

6 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Town Hall Parking Lot: Permit Parking Only.

6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

  • Locust Street from Elden Street to Center Street.

8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • All side streets with access to Elden Street closed, with homeowner access only. This includes Grace, Main, Peachtree, and Ferndale from Vine Street (enter at Center and Vine Streets); and School, Spruce, Lillian Chase, Nathaniel Chase, and Grace from Locust Street (enter at Center and Locust Streets).

8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • Lynn Street between Elden and Center Streets; including access from Nachman Way, Dyer Court, and Station Street.
  • Station Street municipal parking lot entrance at Station Street closed – use Center Street
