MWAA, Capital One Open New Lounge At Washington Dulles Airport

Starting Thursday, travelers at Washington Dulles International Airport will have a new lounge to relax at and grab something to eat.

DULLES, VA — Executives from the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Capital One, and TAV Operation Services cut the ribbon Wednesday on the news 8,500-square-foot Capital One Lounge at Washington Dulles International Airport.

“Congratulations to Tysons-based Capital One for opening a lounge in its hometown airport,” said Jack Potter, MWAA president and CEO, in a release. “This new lounge at Dulles International is the culmination of great work to curate a customized space inspired by the airport’s world-famous mid-century modern architectural style. It’s the latest in a series of new amenities to provide a superior airport experience for our passengers.”

Constructed at the the base of the airport's historic Air Traffic Control Tower, the lounge can be found on the ticketing level beyond the TSA PreCheck between the east and west security checkpoints.

The lounge, which opens to the public on Thursday, will offer grab-and-go food options, such as jarred salads, granola bowls, and fresh juices, for travelers on the go. There will be a full-service coffee and pastry bar, as well as ample workspaces, a parent room, and a full-service bar.

“We created the Capital One Lounge at Dulles Airport with the goal of providing a differentiated airport lounge experience and for us this means catering to a more diverse group of travelers and traveler needs while at the same time incorporating authentically local touches throughout,” said Jenn Scheurich, vice president and head of Capital One Travel, in a release. “Thanks to our partnership with MWAA and TAV, we are thrilled to bring this unique lounge experience to IAD as part of our ongoing effort to set a new standard for the modern lounge experience and provide a better end to end travel journey for our customers.”

Güclü Batkın, CEO of TAV Operation Services, said his team was thrilled to be "at the core" of this new lounge.

”We are ready to bring our global expertise and know-how to provide the best ever lounge experience to Capital One customers here at the airport," he said.
