• Herndon hotel owner requests plan change to allow conversion into housing (ffxnow.com) — Herndon’s Hyatt House owner wants permission to convert the longtime hotel on Herndon Parkway into rental housing, but town staff recommend waiting until the new Herndon 2050 comprehensive plan is finished. Town Council has delayed a decision until January, meaning any redevelopment could be folded into a broader, years-long rethink of land use near the Herndon Metro station.
   

• Big Front Line Spelled Big Problems For South Lakes In Loss To Broad Run (patch.com) — South Lakes boys’ basketball is regrouping after an 81–51 home loss to Broad Run, where the Spartans’ towering front line dominated despite a 23-point effort from Seahawk guard Makhai Ramos. The Seahawks head to arch-rival Herndon tonight, facing a 1–4 Hornets squad in a matchup many local fans will be watching closely.
