Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For NoVA, DC
A severe thunderstorm warning was issued Wednesday for the D.C. metro region, bringing winds of 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.

VIRGINIA — National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Thursday afternoon for parts of Northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. The warning is in effect until 5:15 p.m.
Earlier, severe thunderstorms were detected near Loudoun County at 4:31 p.m., moving east at 30 mph, according to NWS. Residents can expect wind gusts of 60 mph and quarter-sized hail.

High winds can bring some trees, heavy branches, and utility lines down, leading to power outages and blocked roads.
