Sophomore Wins State Championship in 100 Backstroke
Emily Meilus set a new Herndon High record and earned an All American time.

Congratulations to Herndon High School Sophomore, Emily Meilus (pictured) who is the State Champion for the second year in row in the 100 backstroke! Emily setting a new HHS record and earned an All American time! She also placed 7th in the 200 freestyle.
Sophomore, Christian Ginieczki, took fourth place in both the 100 back and 100 fly.
Sophomore, Dylan Cudahy placed seventh in the 500 free and tenth in the 200 IM.
Senior, captain, Jack Van Camp, Ginieczki, Cudahy, and Senior Jason Maccannon took placed eighth in the 200 medley relay.
Senior, captain, Charlie Shen, Austen Greene, Derek Urban, and Cale Witmer placed 16th in the 400 free relay.
The team’s head coach is Herndon High School teacher, Kathy McLaughlin.
