Most Herndon Voters Favored Terry McAuliffe Over Republican Glenn Youngkin
While Republican Glenn Youngkin won the governor's race, Herndon precincts and early voters favored Democrat Terry McAuliffe.

HERNDON, VA — While Republican Glenn Youngkin claimed victory in the Virginia governor's race, Herndon precincts largely favored Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe, according to unofficial election results. Voting totals are available on the county and precinct levels.
Overall, there were 281,679 votes for McAuliffe, 151,707 for Youngkin and 2,244 votes for Liberation Party candidate Princess Blanding in Fairfax County. That's with 249 of 250 precincts reporting.
Votes that would still need to be counted include any provisional ballots and absentee ballots postmarked by Tuesday and received by noon on Friday. Results will be certified by the state on Nov. 15.

All three precincts in Herndon favored McAuliffe, although some percentages were higher than others. The highest percentage from a Herndon precinct for McAuliffe was 61.85 percent at Herndon, which is located at Herndon Middle School. Although Youngkin didn't win any Herndon precincts, the highest percentage for the Republican candidate was 40.10 percent at Herndon #1, which is located at Herndon Elementary School.

319 - HERNDON #1 (11)
- Youngkin: 571 votes, 40.10 percent
- McAuliffe: 837 votes, 58.78 percent
- Blanding: 12 votes, 0.84 percent
HERNDON #2 (11)
- Youngkin: 498 votes, 39.03 percent
- McAuliffe: 761 votes, 59.64 percent
- Blanding: 15 votes, 1.18 percent
HERNDON #3 (11)
- Youngkin: 431 votes, 37.28 percent
- McAuliffe: 715 votes, 61.85 percent
- Blanding: 9 votes, 0.78 percent
