Burglary Puts Lake Ridge Schools in Secure the Building Mode

Woodbridge High School, Lake Ridge Middle School, and Old Bridge Elementary School have given the all-clear, but were in Secure the Building mode as a precaution.

Update: The schools gave the "all clear" notice at 1:40 p.m.

Original story: A burglary in the 3000 block of Tecumseh Court in Lake Ridge has local schools in Secure the Building mode as a precaution, according to the Prince William County Schools Facebook page and the PWC Police Department Facebook page.

, , and School are currently affected. Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok confirmed that the burglary and the schools being in Secure the Building mode were connected.

"All are safe," the PWCS Facebook page read. "Please avoid the schools until the status is lifted."

Another burglary was reported in the 14800 block of Dillon Avenue in the Dale City area, but is not thought to be connected to the Lake Ridge incident.
