Community Meeting re recent murders in Lake Ridge area: Tues, Aug 9, 7-9 pm, Old Bridge UMC, 3966 Old Bridge Rd, Woodbridge

On behalf of my position as Occoquan Supervisor...We have had two unfortunate murders in the Lake Ridge area that could be linked...one a couple of days ago and one a few months ago. Both victims worked for Youth Quest Independent Living, http://youthquestil.com/, an organization that helps those who are having trouble living independently make the transition into adulthood. Our PWC Police have made an arrest and will
have additional presence in the area as they continue to investigate these crimes. I am currently in discussions with the Police Department to see if there are any further measures that need to be taken to increase the safety in our community.
Because this is such an alarming issue, and I want to make certain Lake Ridge resident concerns are addressed, I am hosting a Community Meeting this coming Tuesday, August 9th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Old Bridge United Methodist Church,3966 Old Bridge Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22192. At a minimum, PWC Police and Social Services will be involved in the meeting. We welcome all residents to attend this meeting to receive information and ask questions.
