VIDEO: Flooding Worsens in Occoquan

The rains continue to overwhelm the tiny town.

Occoquan resident James Phelps said that flooding is even worse in town than it was this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, a flash flood warning is in effect for eastern Prince William County until at least 9 p.m. A flash flood warning is worse than a flash flood watch.

Most flash flood deaths happen in automobiles, so if you are driving and you see standing water, turn around. Do not try to drive through it, as you do not know how deep the water is and what the state of the road is beneath the water.
