Highway Crossover to be Constructed Over Old Bridge Road

Before the end of the month, a developer will begin construction on a new highway crossover over Old Bridge Road. This crossover will enable easier access to the Old Bridge Commons development near Hedges Run Drive.

The crossover site is 750 feet north of Hedges Run, in front of Cape Cod Court, the proposed entrance to the Old Bridge Commons. It will have left and right turn lanes on Old Bridge Road.

Occoquan District Supervisor Mike May's email newsletter has more details:

"This is the new project on Old Bridge where 7-11 and the Goddard School will be locating.  You may recall that we mentioned this in our last E-Update.  Construction of the project is ongoing, and the upcoming road improvements are in accordance with the proffers from the original rezoning. The crossover will be located in front of Cape Cod Court, the proposed entrance for Old Bridge Commons.

This work will be performed under a VDOT permit. VDOT will be closely monitoring the construction activities to ensure that the contractor complies with the conditions of the permit and does not cause unsafe conditions or negative impacts to the traveling public.  The hours of lane closures will be restricted accordingly."
