Lake Ridge Neighborhood Library to Move March 18

It will reopen in its new location by April 14.

will close its current location at Tackett's Mill on March 18 to begin the process of moving to its new location on 2239 Old Bridge Road, the PWC government website reported. It will reopen its doors on April 14.

Lake Ridge has been the PWC library that has moved the most often throughout its 17-year history, according to the library's page on PWC government's website. After opening on May 7, 1985, the library first moved to a new location in January of 1987 when a fire caused water damage to the books.

Later that year, the library moved back to its original site. In the 1990s, the Library Board of Trustees suggested closing the library to save money, but the PWC Board of Supervisors asked that the Library System make cuts elsewhere. Lake Ridge Neighborhood Library moved to its current location near Tackett's Mill on May 6, 1995.
