Mom's Apple Pie Expects More Customers After Michelle Obama's Visit
The Occoquan pie shop has baked extras of the pies that the First Lady ordered, expecting greater demand.
Since in Occoquan yesterday, the beloved pie shop says it has had a slight increase in customer traffic, and expects a greater leap this weekend.
"We're expecting more this weekend," employee Mandy Sorenson said. "We've been seeing the shop mentioned nationally in various news sources and blogs."
Sorenson said it was likely that the shop would use Michelle Obama's visit in their future advertising. She said that likes to advertise whatever recognition and awards they receive.

"We've had the Food Network in here," she said, "and Southern Living and Country Living magazines. We've always displayed them in here and let people know what awards we've won and what we've been nominated for."
The shop has baked even more of the apple and sour cherry pies after the First Lady purchased those two flavors. As two of the most popular pies at the shop, the employees expect that the pies' popularity will reach even greater heights.
