Occoquan Jeweler Featured in Alexandria Arts and Crafts Festival
The festival runs June 18-19.

"Two Lorton area artists will be showing their goods at Alexandria’s Old Town Arts & Crafts Festival this weekend – June 18, 1-6p.m., and June 19, 10 a.m.-5p.m.
Occoquan jeweler Melissa Dent will show her one-of-a-kind hand crafted jewelry. Her unique styles bring out the character of the stones she uses. More of her work can be seen at www.etsy.com/people/JewelrybyMD.

Lorton fiber artist Kathy Nolen of Yarn Chef Creations, returns to the Old Town Arts & Crafts Festival as a popular vendor. Yarn Chef Creations items include hats, scarves and shawls, and market bags, all in a variety of colors and styles including open weave mesh styles that work well for summer.
Including Nolen and Dent, 66 top artists and crafters from throughout Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. will kick off the summer in style at Market Square. The art you will find at the Square encompasses everything from jewelry and fiber artists like Melissa Dent and Kathy Nolen, to ceramics, painting, print, sculpture, to raffia and basket weaving. Glass artists including blown, painted, flamed and fused glass art will show their work, several jewelers who work with recycled, vintage and found pieces, a bonsai artist and even handmade creations for your pet will round out the selections.

The event is free and open to the public. Artist demos and live musicians add to the active Market feel of this show. This year the Kid’s Corner includes children’s art crafts, face painting, toys and clothing.
