Occoquan Unveils Mill Model

The model is housed in the Mill House Museum.

On Saturday, Occoquan looked back on an integral part of its history with the unveiling of a scale model of Merchant's Mill in Occoquan.

The model depicts the mill as it was, before a fire destroyed most of it in 1924 and left Occoquan with the remnant known today as the . 

Council member and woodworker Dr. James Walbert built the model at a scale of 1/4 inch to one foot. He donated it to the late last year, and the OHS displayed it in its new home on Saturday.
