Occoquan Tree Lighting, Open House Tomorrow

The town will hold the ceremony at Town Hall at 8:10 p.m.

At 8:10 p.m. on Nov. 18, Occoquan will light the town tree in front of Town Hall at 314 Mill Street.

The tree has been decorated by town volunteers. Also on Nov. 18, the Business Guild will hold its annual holiday open house from 4 to 8 p.m.

"The town is beautifully decorated, and most stores will be open until 8 p.m., offering a variety of savings for the season," said Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta in his email newsletter. "For part of the evening, the town will also play host to Salvation Army bell ringers (all town volunteers)."

After the tree lighting, the Business Guild will have a gift certificate drawing at 8:15 in front of Hawthorne House.

"This is a terrific opportunity to get some holiday shopping done early, support local businesses, and experience the ambiance of the season in a beautiful historic town," Porta said.
