The residents of the townhouse and a townhouse next to it were displaced.

From Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department Public Relations Specialist Rebecca Barnes:
"Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Firefighters responded to the report of a town house fire down the street from 4116 Hampstead Lane. Initial units arrived on scene within minutes and reported smoke from the second floor of a two-story townhouse located at 4122 Hampstead Lane. Further investigation revealed the fire was in the walls on multiple levels of the dwelling and had rapidly progressed upward through a common chimney and utility chase to the attic.
The occupants of the townhouse and the adjacent townhouse were displaced. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Prince William County Fire Marshal’s office. Fire and Rescue units from OWL VFD, Dale City VFD, Coles District VFD, PWCDF&R and PWC PD responded to the incident."
