Rockledge Elementary School Inspected For Possible Gas Leak

is being inspected for a possible gas leak, Prince William County Public Schools reported on its Facebook page. 

"Gas company workers are checking the ground outside Rockledge ES for the source of gas odors," the post read. "The smells prompted two brief precautionary evacuations of staff members working to prepare the school for next month's classes." 

At first, the workers thought they had found the source of the odor, but the school was evacuated once more when the smell continued. 

"The school was already on summer break. Staff members have been sent home while the work continues," the post continued. "School officials are working with the gas company to ensure continued safety."
