Woodbridge Residents Threatened With Handgun in Lake Ridge Area

The accused, another Woodbridge man, reportedly brandished a handgun at the two residents after a previous encounter.

On May 18, a 24-year-old woman and a 22-year-old man, both of Woodbridge, were driving in the area of Prince William Parkway and Old Bridge Road when an acquaintance pulled up next to them in his vehicle and reportedly pointed a handgun at them, police spokesperson Jonathan Perok said.

The victims told police that the brandishing was likely motivated by a previous encounter. The accused did not fire, and when officers arrived at 5:23 p.m., they were able to find and arrest him without any further incidents.

The accused, also of Woodbridge, has been charged with two counts of brandishing a firearm. His court date is unavailable, and he is being held on a $10,000 secured bond. According to Virginia Code, brandishing is a Class 1 misdemeanor, unless it occurs on or within 1000 feet of school grounds, at which point it becomes a Class 6 felony.
