WSHS Concert Doubles as Food Drive

The Woodbridge Senior High School symphonic, concert and varsity bands and winter guard held a concert Dec. 15.

The following comes from an update sent by Sharon Richardson:

"The Woodbridge Senior High School symphonic, concert and varsity bands and the winter guard held their annual holiday concert on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

They performed a great evening of music, and were joined by several band alumni in another tradition -- playing Leroy Anderson's Sleigh Ride at the conclusion of the concert.

Student performers, their families, and others who attended the concert also provided 271 non-perishable food items  to benefit Action in the Community Through Service (ACTS).

The students organized the food drive because they wanted to give back to the community that has supported them this year for Tag Day, the Mighty Viking Invitational marching band competition, and the various student fundraisers that have been held to date, according to Nancy Ro, president of the Woodbridge Senior High School Band Boosters, Inc.
