  1. Buford's Biscuit is moving from its current location on Loudoun Street to a new facility at 7 W. Market St. The popular comfort food restaurant plans to extend its hours at the new location and become more of a sit-down eatery rather than the original fast environment style it has been up to this point. Co-owners Charles Schech and Lauren Barrett hope to continue to provide comfort and joy in the community and contribute to more smiling faces. (Leesburg Patch)
  2. The town of Leesburg is accepting applications for the Leesburg Business Awards on May 3; nominations can be made in five categories. Categories include the Community Ambassador Award, The Innovations Award, The New/Expanding Business Award, Arts and Culture Award, and George C. Marshall Award. For the nomination form, award criteria, and tips on submitting competitive nominations, click here. The application deadline is Mar. 6. (Loudoun Now)
  3. Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Board Member Brenda L. Sheridan has announced she will not be seeking re-election this coming November. Sheridan has been involved with the LCPS system since 2004, when she joined as a substitute teacher and was appointed to the board in 2011. Sheridan was the board chairwoman in 2021 when the student-on-student sexual assault scandal broke out, as well as the second assault when the student was transferred to another school and assaulted another student in an empty classroom. Faced with many accusations and even death threats, Sheridan plans to leave the school board and Loudoun County completely after 25 years. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)
