College Premiere of Green Day's 'American Idiot' at Shenandoah Conservatory
Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Va. will be the first college to present Green Day's award-winning musical 'American Idiot' Sept. 26.

Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Va. kicks off its Main Stage Series with the college premiere of the hit Green Day musical “American Idiot” Friday, Sept. 26.
“American Idiot,” based on the GRAMMY® Award-winning 2004 album by Green Day, is a rock opera that follows three disillusioned youths as they search for freedom beyond suburban America in a post-9/11 world. The musical features the music of Green Day with lyrics by lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong. The show recently finished its national tour in May, after which Shenandoah Conservatory was granted the show’s exclusive license.
Musical Theatre Program Coordinator Jonathan Flom has spent the last two years to acquire the exclusive license to the show. The production will be directed by Flom and choreographed by Tiffanie Carson (a Christopher K. Morgan & Company dancer) with musical direction by Tom Albert and vocal supervision by Matthew Edwards.
