School Board Adopts Revised Policy for School Transfers (loudounnow.com) — Loudoun County’s School Board has approved a revised school transfer and special permission policy that will shape how Leesburg students can move between schools. Board member Lauren Shernoff of the Leesburg district successfully pushed a plan to revisit instructional suitability rules next year, while other proposed amendments on automatic approvals and capacity thresholds saw mixed results before the final policy passed unanimously.
   

2. Suspect Arrested in 2024 Phone Store Break-in (loudounnow.com) — Leesburg police have arrested a Washington, DC man in connection with a 2024 burglary at the AT&T store in the Village at Leesburg and are still searching for a second suspect. The case involves grand larceny and other charges, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact the Leesburg Police Department or submit anonymous tips by phone.
   

3. Grigsby Retires After 30 Years with Leesburg Police (loudounnow.com) — Leesburg residents are saying goodbye to Deputy Chief Vanessa Grigsby, who retired Friday after 30 years with the Leesburg Police Department, including two stints as interim chief and time as a school resource officer at Simpson Middle School.
